.Olsen catches six passes in Week 11 loss (Rotoworld) Greg Olsen caught six passes for 42 yards against the Eagles in Week 11. Analysis: Olsen again served as QB Jay Cutler's go-to target in the second half, and especially on the Bears' final drive. But he was overthrown in some instances and underthrown on Chicago's last offensive play, resulting in a game-ending interception. Olsen's value is reliant on Cutler's confidence, which, right now, is pretty low. The Bears face the Vikings in Week 12.1 hour
.Terrell Owens (RotoWire) Owens had a monster day in Sunday's loss to the Jaguars, catching nine balls for 197 yards and a touchdown, the longest offensive play in Bills history. Analysis: Given that Owens had a 26/366/1 line for the entire season prior to Sunday, this definitely constitutes a breakout performance. The Bills targeted him all afternoon, and we'd imagine new coach Perry Fewell will keep feeding Owens so long as he can keep getting open and doesn't start dropping numerous balls again. On his Twitter account, Owens was offering a trip and tickets to Buffalo's next game if anyone predicted his stats for the Jacksonville game. Let's just say we didn't hit the 9/197/1 line.1 hour
.Owens has huge game Week 11 (TheHuddle) The Associated Press reports Buffalo Bills WR Terrell Owens caught nine passes for 197 yards and one touchdown in Week 11. He also set a franchise record with a 98-yard touchdown reception. Analysis: Owens finally broke out of his season-long drought to post numbers that fantasy owners are accustomed to seeing from the talented wideout. Buffalo has a new coach and a new offensive philosophy which could make a difference for fantasy owners who have Owens on their roster for the playoff push in fantasy leagues this year.2 hours
.Orton struggles through injury (FFChamps) Denver Broncos' quarterback Kyle Orton completed 15-of-29 passes for 171 yards, with no touchdown passes and one interception in a Week 11 loss to the San Diego Chargers. Orton is nursing an ankle injury, and did not start, but entered the game to lead the team's fourth offensive series because fill-in starter Chris Simms had been ineffective up to that point (2-4, 10 yards, with a fumble). Analysis: Orton did not appear to further aggrevate the ankle, and he played the entire game after missing the first few series, so he is expected to r... (More)3 hours
.Randy Moss (RotoWire) Moss had five catches for 34 yards with a touchdown in Sunday's win over the Jets. Analysis: The Jets managed to contain Moss for the most part, but in doing so they allowed Wes Welker to run wild, as he hauled in 15 passes for 192 yards Sunday. Next Monday, it will be the Saints who will need to pick their poison in determining how to cover the Pats' talented wideout duo.4 hours
.Kyle Orton (RotoWire) Orton (ankle) completed 15-of-29 passes for 171 yards and one interception on Sunday against San Diego. Analysis: Orton, who did not start the game, entered with 4:10 left in the second quarter for an ineffective Chris Simms. While Orton was clearly injured enough not to start the game, the coaching staff was confident that he could help the Broncos even with the injured ankle. Nevertheless, the team lost 32-3 and Orton struggled in action.5 hours
.Felix Jones (RotoWire) Jones had 10 carries for 49 yards and added one catch for seven yards in Sunday's 7-6 win over Washington. Analysis: Believe it or not, 10 carries represents a career high for Jones. Marion Barber was the usual workhorse for Dallas on Sunday with 20 rushes, but Jones looks like the clear-cut No. 2 as Tashard Choice had only one carry for one yard.5 hours
.Keller has a disappointing game (Rotoworld) Dustin Keller caught three passes for 38 yards in Sunday's loss to the Patriots. Analysis: Keller came back to earth after 14 catches in his previous two games. It wasn't surprising considering how well Brandon McGowan and the Patriots defend tight ends. He's a low-end TE1 against the Panthers next week.5 hours
.Broncos | Orton comes in relief Week 11 (KFFL) The Associated Press reports Denver Broncos QB Kyle Orton (ankle) did not start Week 11 but did replace QB Chris Simms after three series. Orton finished the game 15-for-29 for 171 yards and one interception. 5 hours
.Jones goes over 100 (Rotoworld) Thomas Jones rushed 21 times for 103 yards in Sunday's loss to the Patriots. Analysis: Jones piled up 40 of those yards in complete garbage time, but that doesn't change the fact that he is running well. And more importantly, Shonn Greene barely sniffed the field. Jones has an excellent matchup with the injury-depleted Panthers next week and will be a RB2.5 hours
.Moss gets touchdown, but Revis wins (Rotoworld) Randy Moss caught five passes for 34 yards with a touchdown in Sunday's win over the Jets. Analysis: Moss' touchdown came on a weird play where Tom Brady seemed to break off the route and Darrelle Revis didn't appear ready. Other than that, Revis got the better of Moss again. For all the talk of help over the top, Revis was in one-on-one coverage most of the day. Expect Moss to bounce back against the Saints next week.5 hours
.Orton throws for 171 yards in relief of ... (Rotoworld) Kyle Orton completed 15-of-29 passes for 171 yards and an interception against the Chargers in Week 11. Analysis: Chris Simms started the game and once again looked hapless, completing just 2-of-4 passes for 10 yards and losing a fumble. A hobbled Orton came on to a chorus of cheers to start the fourth series and immediately began moving the offense. The momentum stalled with a goal-line fumble, and the passing game fell flat thereafter. Orton didn't re-injure his ankle, so he'll likely start Thursday against the Giants.5 hours
.Willis McGahee (RotoWire) McGahee had six carries for 25 yards and caught one pass for seven yards in Sunday's loss to Indianapolis. Analysis: The game was close throughout, so it's not like McGahee was used in some type of blowout situation. McGahee hasn't been used much recently and while it's nice to see him involved again, he did not take advantage of a golden opportunity, getting stuffed on two straight plays from the goal line during the opening series of the fourth quarter. Meanwhile, Ray Rice put up his usual stats, totaling 135 yards on 27 touches. McGahee has been worked back into the rotation a bit, but unless something happens to Rice, McGahee's upside is limited.6 hours
.Bears inactives for Week 11 (FFChamps) The Chicago Bears have announced the following players as inactive for today's game against the Philadelphia Eagles: LB Pisa Tinosamoa, WR Juaquin Iglesias, DT Jarron Gilbert, DT Matt Toeaina, TE Desmond Clark, CB D.J. Moore, FS Kevin Payne, and G Lance Louis. Analysis: With Clark inactive, Greg Olsen should get all of the tight end looks from Jay Cutler. In the last two games, Olsen is averaging six catches and 73 yards receiving.6 hours
.Kyle Orton (RotoWire) Orton (ankle) replaced Chris Simms as the Broncos quarterback with 4:10 remaining in the second quarter of Sunday's game against the Chargers. Analysis: Orton's ankle may not be in perfect shape, but evidently it's good enough for the Broncos to roll him out in relief, with the Chargers having assumed a 13-0 lead.8 hours
.Jones is more active against Redskins (Rotoworld) Felix Jones rushed 10 times for 49 yards and caught one pass for seven yards in Sunday's win over the Redskins. Analysis: Owner Jerry Jones wanted to see more of Jones this week, and he got it. Tashard Choice barely sniffed the field as Jones got some series to himself. Still, this kind of workload is not enough for Jones to have much fantasy value. He's always a threat to break one, but needs to be on benches for now.8 hours
.Jamal Lewis (RotoWire) Lewis had 75 yards on 24 carries and hauled in one reception for 13 yards in Sunday's loss to Detroit. Analysis: He has yet to find the end-zone this season, but it seems as though the Browns are still committed to Lewis being the primary back. He may be losing some ground to backup Chris Jennings, as Jennings provides greater versatility than the bruising Lewis.8 hours
.Bills | Owens has huge game Week 11 (KFFL) The Associated Press reports Buffalo Bills WR Terrell Owens caught nine passes for 197 yards and one touchdown in Week 11. He also set a franchise record with a 98-yard touchdown reception. 8 hours
.McGahee gets the goal-line carries (Rotoworld) Willis McGahee rushed six times for 25 yards in Sunday's loss to the Ravens. Analysis: McGahee got the call on two crucial goal-line carries and didn't execute either. It's unclear if he'll retain that job going forward, but we're guessing he will. Other than that, McGahee briefly spelled Rice on a couple series but is still the clear backup. He's a handcuff.8 hours
.Lewis totals 88 yards in Week 11 loss (Rotoworld) Jamal Lewis rushed 24 times for 75 yards, caught a 13-yard pass and ran for a two-point conversion in Week 11 against the Lions. Analysis: Cleveland stuck with the run throughout, giving Lewis a dozen carries in each half. He converted a two-point try on a direct snap, but has still yet to score a touchdown this season.8 hours
.Owens racks up 197 yards, TD in Week 11 (Rotoworld) Terrell Owens caught nine passes for 197 yards and a touchdown but the Bills couldn't pull out a win against the Jags in Week 11. Analysis: Owens accounted for over half of the Bills' total yardage, which is nearly unheard of at the wide receiver position. He was QB Ryan Fitzpatrick's go-to guy from the start and hauled in a massive 98-yard touchdown in the third quarter. It was the longest pass play in Bills history.9 hours
.Broncos inactives for Week 11 (FFChamps) The Denver Broncos have announced the following players as inactive for today's game against the San Diego Chargers: G Seth Olsen, WR Brandon Lloyd, DE Robert Ayers, WR Kenny McKinley, OT Ryan Harris, DE Chris Baker, RB Lamont Jordan, and QB Tom Brandstater. Analysis: Kyle Orton is active but there is no word yet on whether or not he'll start against the Chargers. Chris Simms would get the start if Orton can't play.10 hours
.Broncos | Orton active for Week 11 (KFFL) NFL.com reports Denver Broncos QB Kyle Orton (ankle) is active for Week 11 but it is not known if he will start the game. 10 hours
.Orton active, no starter named for Bronc... (Rotoworld) Kyle Orton (ankle) is a surprise active in Week 11, but the Broncos have not named an official starter for the Chargers game. Analysis: Orton worked out prior to the game and may have convinced coach Josh McDaniels to let him give it a shot. If so, he's a poor bet to finish the game healthy. Beat wirter Frank Schwab seems to believe that Chris Simms will start regardless, so stay away from this situation in fantasy leagues. Broncos inactives: QB Tom Brandstater, RB LaMont Jordan, WR Brandon Lloyd, OT Ryan Harris, DL Chris Baker, DE Robert Ayers, WR Kenny McKinley, and OG Seth Olsen.10 hours
.Colts inactives for Week 11 (FFChamps) The Indianapolis Colts have announced the following players as inactive for today's game against the Baltimore Ravens: QB Jim Sorgi, K Adam Vinatieri, WR Anthony Gonzalez, CB Kelvin Hayden, RB Mike Hart, DB Aaron Francisco, G Mike Pollak and TE Gijon Robinson. Analysis: Matt Stover will continue the kicking duties for the Colts; while rookie receivers Pierre Garcon (who was questionable) and Austin Collie will get a fair amount of targets against the Baltimore defense.13 hours
.Browns inactives for Week 11 (FFChamps) The Cleveland Browns have announced the following players as inactive for today's game against the Detroit Lions: WR Brian Robiskie, WR Jake Allen, RB Jerome Harrison, DE David Veikune, LB Arnold Harrison, G Billy Yates, DB Coye Francies, and QB Brett Ratliff. Analysis: Jamal Lewis is active and will start against the Lions. If there is a game to use Lewis, it would be against the Detroit defense. He will be backed up by Chris Jennings since Harrison is inactive. Joshua Cribbs, who was listed as questionable, is also active.13 hours
.Lewis, Cribbs both active for Browns (Rotoworld) Jamal Lewis (ankle) and Joshua Cribbs (neck) are both active for Week 11 against the Lions. Analysis: Lewis was listed as questionable and isn't a very good fantasy option anyway.13 hours
.Kyle Orton (RotoWire) As of Saturday afternoon, Orton's ankle had not recovered enough to play, but the Broncos plan to give him one more try Sunday morning at Invesco Field, the Denver Post reports. Analysis: Unless a good night's sleep sleep does wonders for Orton's ankle, look for Chris Simms to be Broncos' starting quarterback Sunday against the Chargers. Even if Orton does suit up, he'd be a risk and, at best, he'd be hobbled. Factor in that the Broncos kick off during the second set of games this week, and this is a situation to avoid.15 hours
.Slaton regains starting job (FFChamps) The Houston Chronicle reported Saturday that Houston Texans' running back Steve Slaton will be the starter for Monday night's game against the Tennessee Titans. The Texans had a bye in Week 10, but Ryan Moats got the start in Week 9 (a 20-17 loss to the Indianapolis Colts) after Slaton had been benched the previous game due to his league-leading eight fumbles on the season. Analysis: We kind-of figured it was just a matter of time before Slaton got his job back. Moats is a serviceable NFL back, but he just doesn't possess the all-around ski... (More)1 day
.Slaton to start in Week 11 (TheHuddle) The Houston Chronicle, reports Houston Texans RB Steve Slaton will start at running back in Week 11. Analysis: Slaton once again gets the start for Houston who have had problems consistently rushing the ball this season. Ryan Moats should still be a factor in the offense but Slaton will likely get the bulk of the carries at the present time. Fantasy owners should view Slaton as a low-end No. 2 running back.1 day
.Looking like Orton will not play Week 11 (TheHuddle) The Denver Post, reports, as of Saturday, Nov. 21, Denver Broncos QB Kyle Orton's (ankle) ankle has not healed enough to be able to play in Week 11. All signs are pointing to QB Chris Simms starting the game. Analysis: With Chris Simms likely to start once again for Denver in Week 11, fantasy owners should look elsewhere if your team has a need at quarterback. Simms struggled in Week 10 and will likely do the same as he faces a tough San Diego defense.1 day
.McGahee expected to see playing time Week 11 (TheHuddle) The Carroll County Times, reports Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said there is a good chance RB Willis McGahee will see some playing time in Week 11. 'We like Willis,' Harbaugh said. 'Willis is a very good player. I think there's a good chance you'll see a lot of Willis this weekend.' Analysis: McGahee started the season on fire but then has disappeared the last few weeks much to the dismay of his fantasy owners. Baltimore is clearly using Ray Rice as their feature back which has limited the opportunities for McGahee so it would be hard to imagine any major changes in strategy at this poi... (More)1 day
.Kyle Orton not expected to go Sunday (FFToolbox) According to the Denver Post, barring an overnight medical miracle that heals Denver Broncos quarterback Kyle Orton's bum ankle, Chris Simms will be the team's starting QB Sunday against the San Diego Chargers with sole possession of the AFC West lead at stake. While Simms has taken the first-team snaps all week, Orton has been unable to practice due to a sprained ankle, which he suffered last week against Washington. Orton has tried hard to get his ankle to heal. But as of Saturday afternoon, it had not recovered enough to play. Orton do... (More)1 day
.Steve Slaton to start for Texans again (FFToolbox) Three weeks after losing his starting job after losing the ball too often, it looks like Steve Slaton is back in the captain's chair in the Houston Texans' backfield. Slaton found out Saturday he would start Monday night against the Tennessee Titans after having a good week of practices. Slaton was initially benched in week eight after losing a fumble for the third straight game. He played in a reserve role behind Ryan Moats in week nine before the Texans' bye week. Slaton said that he was anticipating to regain the starting spot and that... (More)1 day
.Broncos | Looking like Orton will not play Week 11 (KFFL) Mike Klis, of The Denver Post, reports, as of Saturday, Nov. 21, Denver Broncos QB Kyle Orton's (ankle) ankle has not healed enough to be able to play in Week 11. All signs are pointing to QB Chris Simms starting the game. 1 day
.Orton not ready as of Saturday (Rotoworld) As of Saturday afternoon, Kyle Orton's left ankle had not recovered enough to play Sunday, according to the Denver Post. Analysis: This does not mean that Orton is out for Sunday's game against the Chargers. He'll still test the ankle Sunday morning to see if he can go. But considering this is a 4:15 ET start, you should not be waiting on this situation in any leagues. Chris Simms took the first-team reps all week and will start if Orton sits.1 day
.Ravens | McGahee expected to see playing time Week 11 (KFFL) Aaron Wilson, of the Carroll County Times, reports Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said there is a good chance RB Willis McGahee will see some playing time in Week 11. "We like Willis," Harbaugh said. "Willis is a very good player. I think there's a good chance you'll see a lot of Willis this weekend." 1 day
.Texans | Slaton to start in Week 11 (KFFL) John McClain, of the Houston Chronicle, reports Houston Texans RB Steve Slaton will start at running back in Week 11. 1 day
.Steve Slaton (RotoWire) Slaton will start at running back Monday against Tennessee, the Houston Chronicle reports. "I had an assumption that I would start, but nothing was concrete until now," Slaton said. "I'm happy about it. It's an opportunity I have to take full advantage of." Analysis: It looks like Slaton will get a chance to be the primary back, but Ryan Moats could still be in the mix. This still sounds like an unstable situation, but Slaton could become a strong fantasy option again quickly if he has a good game and overcomes his recent fumbling problems.1 day
.Steve Slaton regains starting job for Te... (Rotoworld) Steve Slaton will start for the Texans against the Titans on Monday night. Analysis: We thought that Slaton would have to prove he can hold on to the ball before getting his starting job back, but coach Gary Kubiak is apparently convinced. Slaton's role was due to grow anyway because he's clearly their best back, but this a great sign that he has his coach's confidence. Look for Slaton to still share carries with Chris Brown and Ryan Moats, but we like him as a solid flex play this week.1 day
.McGahee getting back in the mix? (Rotoworld) Ravens coach John Harbaugh said he plans on using Willis McGahee this week. Analysis: "Willis is a very good player. I think there's a good chance you'll see a lot of Willis this weekend," Harbaugh said. McGahee had 13 carries last week while Ray Rice had 20, but we're not worried about Rice's workload. Harbaugh has said before he wants to get Willis more work and it hasn't happened. McGahee remains a strict handcuff to Rice.1 day
.Jennings seeing more playing time (TheHuddle) The Cleveland Plain Dealer, reports Cleveland Browns RB Chris Jennings will see more playing time at the expense of RB Jamal Lewis and RB Jerome Harrison. Jennings saw seven carries in the team's Week 10 game. Lewis had 10 carries and Harrison never touched the ball. Head coach Eric Mangini said, "We wanted to take a look at Chris because I think he's earned a look based on the things that he's done and that was something that we did this past week. If he continues to progress in practice, I think that will continue to be the case." Lewis said Jennings has gotten more reps during practices this... (More)2 days
.Browns | Jennings seeing more playing time (KFFL) Tony Grossi, of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, reports Cleveland Browns RB Chris Jennings will see more playing time at the expense of RB Jamal Lewis and RB Jerome Harrison. Jennings saw seven carries in the team's Week 10 game. Lewis had 10 carries and Harrison never touched the ball. Head coach Eric Mangini said, "We wanted to take a look at Chris because I think he's earned a look based on the things that he's done and that was something that we did this past week. If he continues to progress in practice, I think that will continue to be the case." Lewis said Jennings has gotten more reps during practices this ... (More)2 days
.Lewis limited again, listed as questionable (FFChamps) Cleveland Browns' running back Jamal Lewis (ankle) was limited again in Friday's practice, and is listed as questionable to face the Detroit Lions on Sunday. Analysis: Speculation is that Lewis will play through the ankle injury, and he could wind up being a top-20 fantasy back this weekend, only because of his matchup with the pitiful Lions. Lewis owners need to be concerned with more than just their boy's ankle, though, as coach Eric Mangini alluded earlier in the week to a desire to get rookie Chris Jennings more involved in the Brownies' backfield mix. On NFL.com, Jennings is actually listed ahead... (More)2 days
.Kyle Orton to be game-time decision (FFToolbox) Denver Broncos quarterback Kyle Orton has been unable to practice all week due to a sprained ankle that he suffered last week. Yet, head coach Josh McDaniels said that there is "absolutely" a chance that he plays in a very important game against the San Diego Chargers. Orton didn't practice with the first-team offense all week -- those reps went to Chris Simms, who would start in Orton's place if he can't play. One reason Orton didn't practice Friday was because the team figured more rehabilitation on the ankle was more of a benefit than ... (More)2 days
.Marshall practices Friday (FFChamps) Denver Broncos' wide receiver Brandon Marshall put in another full day of practice on Friday, and is listed as probable to face the San Diego Chargers. Analysis: All indications are that Marshall will be out there against San Diego. The bigger concern in Denver (and to Brandon's fantasy owners) is who will be getting the ball to him on Sunday. Marshall had two long scores in the first half last weekend against Washington before Orton went down, and the two seem to be developing a chemistry that wasn't there initially after Jay Cutler's departure. If Orton is too banged up to play, More)2 days
.Broncos | Orton misses practice Friday (KFFL) Updating a previous report, Denver Broncos QB Kyle Orton (ankle) did not participate in practice Friday, Nov. 20. He is listed as questionable for Week 11. 2 days
.Colts | Gonzalez out for Week 11 (KFFL) Indianapolis Colts WR Anthony Gonzalez (knee) did not participate in practice Friday, Nov. 20. He has been ruled out for Week 11. 2 days
.Orton misses practice but not ruled out for Sunday (FFChamps) Broncos quarterback Kyle Orton did not practice on Friday, missing his third straight practice this week because of his sprained ankle. Head coach Josh McDaniels did not rule Orton out, telling the Denver Post that there is "absolutely" a chance Orton will play on Sunday despite missing the entire week of practice. Analysis: It appears that Orton learned nothing from last season when he rushed back from an ankle injury and it clearly affected the rest of his season in a negative way, however, the injury last year was on his right foot which he uses to plant before he releases the ball, where... 50.Jamal Lewis (RotoWire) Lewis (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Lions, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. Analysis: We'd be surprised if Lewis doesn't play this week, but since he is one of just four Browns listed as questionable this week, do check his status before the first wave of kickoffs Sunday.2 days
.Jamal Lewis questionable (Rotoworld) Jamal Lewis (questionable, ankle) was limited in Friday's practice. Analysis: Lewis will play against Detroit, but isn't even a good flex play because of his decreasing role in an awful Cleveland offense and declining ability.2 days
.Browns | Lewis limited Friday (KFFL) Scott Petrak, of the Medina County Gazette, reports Cleveland Browns RB Jamal Lewis (ankle) was limited in practice Friday, Nov. 20, and is questionable for Week 11. He is expected to play in the game. 2 days
.Randy Moss (RotoWire) Moss is not listed on the Patriots' injury report for Sunday's game against the Jets, the Boston Globe reports. Analysis: The last time the Patriots faced the Jets, cornerback Darrelle Revis held Moss to four catches for 24 yards. Revis is the real deal, but the Patriots' offense -- and that includes the rapport between QB Tom Brady and Moss -- has been clicking of late, so what happened back in Week 2 shouldn't deter you from rolling with Moss, who we are guessing would like to turn the tables around on Sunday.2 days
.Kyle Orton (RotoWire) Orton (sprained left ankle) missed his third consecutive practice Friday, the Denver Post reports. Coach Josh McDaniels says that Orton's availability for Sunday's game against San Diego will be a game-time decision. Analysis: McDaniels says that Orton will be put through a workout before Sunday's game and how he performs at that time will determine whether he plays or not. Given the fact that the Broncos play during the second wave of games Sunday, Orton probably isn't worth the risk, even in deep leagues, unless you have his backup Chris Simms handy for a last-minute plug-in.2 days
.Broncos | Orton to be game-time decision (KFFL) Updating a previous report, ESPN.com reports Denver Broncos QB Kyle Orton (ankle) will be a game-time decision in Week 11. 2 days
.Orton misses practice, listed as questio... (Rotoworld) Kyle Orton (ankle) was held out of practice for a third straight day Friday and is listed as questionable for Week 11. Analysis: While missing practice all week is a bad sign, coach Josh McDaniels said that Orton "absolutely" still has a chance to start against San Diego. Orton will be worked out in pre-game warmups before his status for the game is determined. The Broncos and Chargers don't play until 4:15ET, so Orton is an obvious "sit" in standard leagues. Chris Simms will start if Orton can't.2 days
.Orton missed practice Thursday (TheHuddle) Denver Broncos QB Kyle Orton (ankle) did not participate in practice Thursday, Nov. 19. The Broncos have not ruled him out for Week 11 and said he is feeling better. Analysis: Don't hold your breath regarding Orton. A lot of this talk is probably meant to create doubt in the mind of San Diego's defensive coordinator as to who is going to be under center for Denver in Week 11. Assume Orton will sit.2 days
.Ownwe wants more touches for F. Jones (TheHuddle) The Dallas Morning News reports Dallas Cowboys owner/general manager Jerry Jones said he would like to see RB Felix Jones get more touches because he believes Jones would be a big-time producer with more opportunities. Analysis: More touches would further muddle an already crowded Cowboy backfield from a Fantasy perspective. More importantly, however, Felix Jones doesn't seem to have the burst he possessed before being hurt against Carolina. That may be part of the reason that, when Jones is on the field, offensive coordinator Jason Garre... (More)2 days
.Broncos | Orton will not practice Friday, could play Week 11 (KFFL) Frack Schwab, of the Colorado Springs Gazette, reports Denver Broncos QB Kyle Orton (ankle) will not participate in practice Friday, Nov. 20, but head coach Josh McDaniels said Orton has a chance to play Week 11. Orton will be listed as questionable for the game. 2 days
.Report: Anthony Gonzalez may return Week... (Rotoworld) NFL.com's Jason La Canfora reports that Anthony Gonzalez has a "chance" to return in Week 12 against the Texans. Analysis: La Canfora confirms the obvious -- that Gonzo won't play Sunday against the Ravens -- but says he is "expected" to resume practicing next week. Gonzalez would be just three weeks removed from knee surgery in Week 12, so the Colts definitely wouldn't immediately reinsert him into the starting lineup. We'd bet heavily against him helping anyone in the fantasy playoffs as well.2 days
.Broncos | Orton missed practice Thursday (KFFL) Denver Broncos QB Kyle Orton (ankle) did not participate in practice Thursday, Nov. 19. The Broncos have not ruled him out for Week 11 and said he is feeling better. 2 days
.Anthony Gonzalez (RotoWire) Gonzalez (knee) says he's making progress and could return after a couple of games, the Indianapolis Star reports. Analysis: After spraining a PCL ligament in his right knee in Week 1, Gonzalez had a setback and underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee on Nov. 6. It sounds like Gonzalez believes he can return this season, but fantasy owners shouldn't count on him playing again. It's not clear what role he'd have if he returned with the development of Austin Collie and Pierre Garcon.2 days
.Cowboys | Owner would like to see F. Jones get more touches (KFFL) Gerry Fraley, of The Dallas Morning News, reports Dallas Cowboys owner/general manager Jerry Jones said he would like to see RB Felix Jones get more touches because he believes Jones would be a big-time producer with more opportunities. 2 days
.Jerry Jones: Put the ball in Felix's han... (Rotoworld) Cowboys owner Jerry Jones reiterated that he wants to see the ball in Felix Jones' hands more often. Analysis: "We need to get him in situations outside, or where he has a little space, and we'll see some of that," Jones said. Coach Wade Phillips said the same thing earlier in the week before admitting that Felix's struggles in pass protection have kept him off the field. Expect to see a few more touches per game now that Jones is healthy, but he won't have a significant impact on Marion Barber's value.2 days
.Colts | Gonzalez believes he is close to returning (KFFL) Mike Chappell, of The Indianapolis Star, reports Indianapolis Colts WR Anthony Gonzalez (knee) said he believes he is close to returning to the lineup. 2 days
.Gonzalez expected to miss two more games (Rotoworld) Though Anthony Gonzalez insists he's close to returning from arthroscopic surgery on his right knee, he's expected to miss at least two more games. Analysis: "I felt like I was close the last time," Gonzalez said. "So in that sense, it's a little hard to say. I do feel the 'scope I had helped a lot." Gonzalez did not offer a return date, though, and the Colts have yet to set a timetable. With Pierre Garcon and Austin Collie playing, Gonzalez has not been missed this season. The Colts have no reason to rush him back.2 days
.Browns | Lewis limited Thursday (KFFL) Scott Petrak, of the Medina County Gazette, reports Cleveland Browns RB Jamal Lewis (ankle) was limited during practice Thursday, Nov. 19. He is expected to play in Week 11. 3 days
.Jamal Lewis (RotoWire) Lewis (ankle) was listed as a limited practice participant Thursday. Analysis: We'll see where Lewis ends up on Friday's injury report, but so far there there doesn't seem to be major concern about his Week 11 availability.3 days
.Jamal Lewis limited again Thursday (Rotoworld) Jamal Lewis (ankle) was limited again in Thursday's practice. Analysis: Lewis has been limited for the past few weeks, but he's fully expected to start against the Lions. Even against the Lions, he's just our 37th ranked fantasy RB for this week.3 days
.Orton misses second straight day of practice (FFChamps) Broncos quarterback Kyle Orton missed his second consecutive day of practice on Thursday due to the torn ligaments in his left ankle, increasing the liklihood that he will miss Sunday's game against the Chargers. Chris Simms has been taking all the practice snaps with the first team in Orton's absence. 71.Randy Moss (RotoWire) Moss, whose absence from practice Wednesday was termed "not injury related," was removed from the Patriots' practice participation/injury report Thursday, ESPN.com reports. Analysis: There's a chance that Moss may show up as "probable" Friday, but we fully expect him to be good to go Sunday against the Jets.3 days
.Kyle Orton (RotoWire) Though coach Josh McDaniels said that Orton (ankle) was feeling better, it was Chris Simms who was the one taking snaps during the portion of practice open to the media on Thursday, the Associated Press reports. Analysis: Orton wants to tough it out this week against the Chargers, but we'll have to see what he is able to do Friday. Chances are, he'll end up with a legitimate "questionable" tag for Week 11's game.3 days
.Orton misses practice Thursday (TheHuddle) The Denver Post reports Denver Broncos QB Kyle Orton (ankle) missed his second straight practice Thursday, Nov. 19, with a severely sprained ankle. He is still hoping to play in Week 11. Analysis: When you see the phrase "severely sprained ankle" associated with anyone, it's never a good sign. The Broncos need this week's game against San Diego desperately, but if Orton tries to gut it out he could be more of a hindrance than a help, plus hurt himself worse. As bad as Chris Simms was against Washington, he'd probably still be a better option than a one-legged Orton. Good luck with all of that, Bro... (More)3 days
.Orton making progress, but still uncerta... (Rotoworld) Though Kyle Orton is making progress with his ankle injury, coach Josh McDaniels said he won't determine his starting quarterback until necessary. Analysis: "We'd love for him to be out there as soon as he can possibly be out there, and very hopeful he's going to play," McDaniels said. This situation is headed toward a game-time decision. Orton missed practice again Thursday while Chris Simms handled most of the first-team reps. Orton will push to play if it's at all possible, but check back Friday afternoon for an update on his status.3 days
.Broncos | Orton misses practice Thursday (KFFL) Mike Klis, of The Denver Post, reports Denver Broncos QB Kyle Orton (ankle) missed his second straight practice Thursday, Nov. 19, with a severely sprained ankle. He is still hoping to play in Week 11. 3 days
.Bears say Hester doesn't need 60 plays (Rotoworld) Bears wide receivers coach Darryl Drake said that Devin Hester "doesn't need 60 plays." Analysis: Drake was talking about the progress of Devin Aromashodu and how he can fit into the offense. Still, it's hard to see Aromashodu cutting into Hester's playing time. Hester has been the team's most reliable receiver and appears fresh. Hester remains a decent WR2 against the Eagles' banged up secondary Sunday night. 3 days
.Orton has torn ligaments (TheHuddle) The Associated Press reports Denver Broncos QB Kyle Orton has torn ligaments in his left ankle. However, he is still hoping to start in Week 11. "I'll come back as fast as I can and try to lead the football team and try to be in the huddle just like everybody else," Orton said. "In this sport, you've got to play when you are dinged up, and the quarterback is no different." Analysis: Chris Simms, who was abysmal in relief of Orton last week, has been taking first-team snaps this week and would be in line to start for the Broncos if Orton can't go.3 days
.Kyle Orton (RotoWire) The Associated Press is reporting that Orton (ankle) has torn ligaments in his ankle, but remains optimistic to play in Sunday's game against San Diego, according to the Colorado Springs Gazette. Analysis: Orton's injury is different than the ankle injury he suffered last season and he says the two are completely unrelated. The ankle has apparently improved over the course of the week, which is why Orton thinks he will be able to go on Sunday. While he certainly is not practicing fully, the team is leaving the door wide open for him to start against the Chargers.3 days
.Report: QB Orton has torn ligaments in a... (Rotoworld) The Associated Press reports that Kyle Orton, who sat out practice on Wednesday, has torn ligaments in his ankle. Analysis: The good news is Orton's injury is to his left ankle; his right was the problematic joint in 2008. Orton, in a contract year, "adamantly" wants to start against San Diego, and the Broncos' coaching staff is surely with him after seeing Chris Simms complete 3-of-13 passes for 13 yards in the second half of last week's loss to the Redskins. Look for Orton to play Sunday, but he won't be close to 100 percent. Reserve him in all leagues.4 days

.Orton sits out with torn ligaments in ankle (FFChamps) Broncos quarterback Kyle Orton missed practice on Wednesday with what the Associated Press is calling torn ligaments in his left ankle. "If Kyle can practice, he will," Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels told the Colorado Springs Gazette. "If he can’t practice or he’s limited to some degree, Chris [Simms] will take the reps we feel he needs to take just to be ready to go in case we have to play him this week. If Kyle can’t practice, he’ll take most of the reps, just like Kyle would." Analysis: At this point it doesn't look like Orton is going to be able to pl... (More)4 days
.Jamal Lewis (RotoWire) Lewis (ankle) was listed as a limited participant at Wednesday's practice, the Browns' official site reports. Analysis: So far there has been no red flags regarding Lewis' Week 11 status and assuming he plays, facing the Lions Sunday makes him worthy of lineup consideration.4 days
.Browns | Lewis limited Wednesday (KFFL) Cleveland Browns RB Jamal Lewis (ankle) was limited during practice Wednesday, Nov. 18. 4 days
.Jamal Lewis limited Wednesday (Rotoworld) Jamal Lewis (ankle) was limited in Browns practice Wednesday. Analysis: Lewis got the ball 11 times in Week 10, generating just 41 yards. We couldn't responsibly recommend the declining back even at Detroit in Week 11.4 days
.Kyle Orton (RotoWire) Orton (ankle) did not practice during the team's early session on Wednesday, but is optimistic to play on Sunday, the Denver Post reports. Analysis: Orton said he would try to participate in the afternoon activities, but it seems that the team will likely keep him out in order to rest his injured ankle and be as ready as possible for Sunday's game against San Diego.4 days
.Anthony Gonzalez (RotoWire) Gonzalez (knee) did not participate in Wednesday's practice, the team's official web site reports. Analysis: He underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee on Nov. 6 and was expected to miss an additional two to three weeks, but there's been no sign of his return. With the Colts likely clinching a playoff spot early, there's no reason to rush him back ... and it's still possible he may not return at all this season.4 days

.Phillips admits Jones struggles in prote... (Rotoworld) Cowboys coach Wade Phillips admitted that Felix Jones' struggles in pass protection keep him off the field. Analysis: Phillips says he wants to feature Jones more, but prefers to have Marion Barber or Tashard Choice out there when pass protection is needed. "He's just not as adept at it yet," Phillips said. Jones should probably be on fantasy benches unless an injury strikes Barber or Choice.4 days
.Report: Kyle Orton likely to play despite ankle injury (FFToolbox) Denver Broncos quarterback Chris Simms completed just three of his 13 passes and threw a pick in relief of Kyle Orton, who left the team's week 10 game in the second quarter due to an ankle injury. After that performance, the Broncos must be breathing a sigh of relief with the news that Orton will likely play this Sunday against the San Diego Chargers, according to the NFL Network. Denver Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels said on Monday that he wouldn't know until later in the week if Orton's sprained left ankle will prevent him from play... (More)4 days
.Steve Slaton (RotoWire) Slaton continues to work on fumble-prevention during team practices, the Texans' official site reports. After fumbling eight times and losing five of them, Slaton was replaced as the starting running back by Ryan Moats. Analysis: He was still used as a third down back in their last game against Indianapolis, but the team ideally wants him as its lead back. In practices, teammates routinely rip at the ball both during and after the play to make sure Slaton is keeping the ball secure. "For us to play well in the next seven weeks, Steve will have to be a big part of that. I know I'm counting on him, and I know his teammates are, too," said Texans head coach Gary Ku... (More)5 days

You've just got to put it out of your mind and not think about it too much, but it still has to be there, just to know you've got squeeze it.' Analysis: Slaton's had two weeks to work on the problem, since Houston had a bye in Week 10. He'll probably continue to share carries with Ryan Moats and, to a lesse... (More)5 days
.Slaton watching tapes of Tiki Barber (Rotoworld) Steve Slaton has begun watching tapes of former Giants RB Tiki Barber in hopes of solving his fumbling problems. Analysis: Slaton has fumbled the ball an NFL-high eight times this season, though coach Gary Kubiak has lauded him for his work ethic. "For us to play well in the next seven weeks, Steve will have to be a big part of that," said Kubiak. 100.Terrell Owens (RotoWire) Owens' coach, Dick Jauron, has been fired by the Bills. Analysis: There's no word yet who the new coach will be, but we'd have to guess that Jauron's firing can only help Owens' drastically reduced fantasy value, as Jauron is too conservative and lacked the creativity to allow the passing game to shine in his system. This offense still needs more than just a new coach for Owens to start being more productive, mostly because the offensive line is a mess, but if you can pluck T.O. off the scrap heap for practically nothing either on the wire or via trade, at least it has a chance of paying off now.5 days
