.Raiders | Bush to start in Week 11 (KFFL) David White, of the San Francisco Chronicle, reports Oakland Raiders RB Michael Bush will remain the team's starting running back in Week 11. However, head coach Tom Cable is expected to go with the hot hand in a rotation with RBs Darren McFadden and Justin Fargas. 5 hours
.Raiders | Teammates are behind Gradkowski (KFFL) Jerry McDonald, of ANG Newspapers, reports Oakland Raiders players are in support of QB Bruce Gradkowski and feel he gives the team the best chance to win at this point. "Bruce gives us the best chance to win right now," TE Zach Miller said. "We've got to be out there and play better football than we have the last few games here." RB Justin Fargas added that Gradkowski plays with passion. "You want to make a play for your quarterback but when he shows that type of passion for the game, obviously guys are going to feed off it and try to give him that same effort," Fargas said. 5 hours
.Garcon questionable, but practices fully (FFChamps) Indianapolis Colts' wide receiver Pierre Garcon is listed as questionable to face the Baltimore Ravens in Week 11, but practiced without restrictions again on Friday. Analysis: All indications are that Garcon is pretty much a lock to play this weekend against a once-feared Ravens' defense that will have a hard time stopping Peyton Manning and a presently-feared Colts' offense. Garcon practiced fully the last couple of days, and appears to be working through the ankle injury that kept him out of practice earlier in the week. Start him conf... (More)17 hours
.Chargers | Gates practices Friday, will play Week 11 (KFFL) San Diego Chargers TE Antonio Gates (foot) practiced Friday, Nov. 20. He is listed as probable for Week 11 and will play. 17 hours
.Gates practices, is probable (FFChamps) San Diego Chargers' tight end Antonio Gates practiced in full on Friday, and is listed as probable against the Denver Broncos. Analysis: It's the biggest game of the year in the AFC West (a.k.a., the ONLY game in the AFC West that will matter all year), so expect Gates to suit-up and be roaming the middle of the suddenly Charmin-esque Broncos' defense come Sunday. Unfortunately for Gates, a certain Brian Dawkins also calls this territory home, and though Denver has shown cracks the last few weeks, we think Dawkins' presence downgrades Gates to a borderline No. 1/No. 2 fantasy tight end this weekend.19 hours
.Bush to start against Bengals (FFChamps) Oakland Raiders' head coach Tom Cable announced that Michael Bush would get the nod as the team's starting tailback against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 11. Analysis: Bush topped the century mark last weekend, which pretty much nobody in the fantasy football world forecasted (a stray touchdown, perhaps...but Bush is not known for piling up the yards, even against matador defensive fronts like the Chiefs). And while Bush may be the starter this Sunday against Cincinnati, it's nearly impossible to predict which Raider back will prosper...if any. Cincinnati's defense is number two in the league again... 7.Antonio Gates (RotoWire) Gates (foot) practiced fully again on Friday and is listed as probable for Sunday's game against the Broncos. Analysis: It's safe to start Gates as you normally would this week.21 hours
.Antonio Gates back to full practice (Rotoworld) Antonio Gates (probable, foot) practiced in full again on Friday. Analysis: Gates is certain to start Sunday against the Broncos. He's been getting Wednesday practices off to rest the foot he had surgery on prior to the 2008 season. Gates is a top-five fantasy tight end in all formats.22 hours
.Jets | Cotchery could return kicks Week 11 (KFFL) Tara Sullivan, of The Bergen Record, reports New York Jets special teams coach Mike Westhoff said WR Jerricho Cotchery has emerged as a leading candidate to return kickoffs if FS Jim Leonhard (thumb) is not able to play. 1 day
.Antonio Gates returns to full practice (Rotoworld) Antonio Gates (foot) returned to a full practice Thursday. Analysis: Gates was simply given a veteran day off Wednesday. He remains a TE1 this week even against a Broncos defense that has been tough on tight ends.1 day
.Chargers | Gates practices in full Thursday (KFFL) San Diego Chargers TE Antonio Gates (foot) practiced in full Thursday, Nov. 19, and will play Week 11. 1 day
.Antonio Gates (RotoWire) Gates (foot) practiced fully Thursday. Analysis: He'll likely be listed as probable come Friday, but Gates says he's feeling healthy and that his missed practices are a maintenance deal, so he'll be out there Sunday against the Broncos.1 day
.Cotchery to return punts in Week 11 (Rotoworld) Jerricho Cotchery will return punts for the Jets against the Patriots this week. Analysis: Safety Jim Leonhard, the normal punt returner, is expected to miss the game following thumb surgery. Cotchery hasn't returned punts since 2005 and is unlikely to a significant value increase in return yardage leagues this week.1 day
.Gates says his health has been the key (Rotoworld) Antonio Gates says he is completely healthy after nagging injuries limited his play in 2008. Analysis: Gates says he takes Wednesdays off just to "maintain feeling great." He's averaging 7.1 yards after the catch this season while his career mark is 4.4. Additionally, this is the first time in his career he has had more than 49 receiving yards in nine straight games. There's no reason to think he will have any drop off down the stretch.2 days
.Chargers | Gates misses practice Wednesday (KFFL) San Diego Chargers TE Antonio Gates (foot) missed the team's practice Wednesday, Nov. 18. 2 days
.Antonio Gates (RotoWire) Gates (foot) missed Wednesday's practice, the San Diego Union Tribune reports. Analysis: Until we hear otherwise, we'll assume this is a routine day off for Gates.2 days
.Antonio Gates held out of practice (Rotoworld) Antonio Gates (foot) was held out of Chargers practice Wednesday. Analysis: Gates usually gets Wednesdays off. He'll play against the Broncos.2 days
.Donald Driver (RotoWire) Driver had four receptions for 50 yards in Sunday's win over the Cowboys. Analysis: Aaron Rodgers completed passes to 10 different receivers as the Packers relied on a bounty of short, quick throws to negate the pass rush and keep their quarterback upright. The balanced distribution prevented any receiver from having a big day, but it didn't stop Driver from posting his eighth straight game of at least 50 yards.4 days
.Rams | Jackson moves up franchise rushing list (KFFL) Jim Thomas, of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, reports St. Louis Rams RB Steven Jackson moved up to third place on the Rams' all-time rushing list in Week 10. Jackson finished the game with 6,206 career yards and moved ahead of former NFL RB Lawrence McCutcheon, who rushed for 6,186 yards in his Rams career. 4 days
.Jerricho Cotchery (RotoWire) Cotchery had six catches for 68 yards with a touchdown in Sunday's loss to the Jaguars. Analysis: Cotchery has just two TDs in seven games, but his average of 4.7 catches and 71.1 receiving yards per game is enough to get him playing time in most fantasy leagues.4 days
.Peyton Manning (RotoWire) Manning was 28-of-44 for 327 yards with four touchdowns and two interceptions in Sunday's win over New England. Analysis: Manning threw two second half interceptions in a rare stretch of bad decisions, but rallied the Colts to score twice in the final three minutes to win the game. He'll face another tough game next week against Baltimore, but Manning looks set to have a historic season as he's on pace to break Dan Marino's 1984 record of 5,084 passing yards in a season.5 days
.Justin Fargas (RotoWire) Fargas ran the ball 10 times for 41 yards and a touchdown in the Raiders' victory over the Chiefs on Sunday. Analysis: Despite the return of starting running back Darren McFadden (knee), Fargas still saw a decent amount of carries and managed to find the end zone for the second straight game. Fellow running back Michael Bush also played well, topping the 100-yard mark for the first time this season, and did not look ready to be the team's third running back. Expect the three backs to continue splitting the carries in some fashion.5 days
.V-Jax kept in check by double teams (Rotoworld) The Eagles used double-coverage on Vincent Jackson throughout his one-catch performance Sunday. Analysis: "They were very careful, and were not going to let us get the ball upfield to Vincent, and they doubled him most of the game," said coach Norv Turner. Instead, the Eagles left the middle of the field open for Antonio Gates to catch seven passes. V-Jax has emerged as one of the most dominant receivers in the league, so don't expect a repeat against Denver this week.5 days
.Colts | Manning throws four TD passes Week 10 (KFFL) The Associated Press reports Indianapolis Colts QB Peyton Manning was 28-for-44 for 327 yards with four touchdown passes and two interceptions Week 10 against the New England Patriots. 5 days
.Manning throws four TDs in wild SNF vict... (Rotoworld) Peyton Manning completed 28-of-44 passes for 327 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions as the Colts topped the Patriots 35-34 in Week 10. Analysis: Manning threw some awful passes and wasn't always in sync with his receivers, but he also made some incredible plays Sunday night in a wild victory over the Pats. He now has 20 touchdown passes on the year and the Colts remain undefeated headed into a Week 11 matchup with the defensive-minded Ravens.5 days
.McFadden's return unremarkable (FFChamps) In his first game back from knee surgery, Oakland Raiders' running back Darren McFadden had only four carries for 11 yards. Analysis: Michael Bush ran for over 100 yards, and Justin Fargas scored a touchdown...yet many thought that McFadden would be the Raider back to shine against the Chiefs today. Oops. McFadden appears a few weeks away from a significant workload, and owners have to wonder if a tripod time share is in order by the Bay for the rest of 2009.5 days
.Steven Jackson (RotoWire) Jackson carried the ball 26 times for 131 yards and one touchdown and also had nine receptions for 45 yards in the Rams' loss to the Saints in Week 10. Analysis: Another huge week for Jackson who just piles up the yards while his club piles up losses. The good news is Marc Bulger played very good on Sunday and if he can regain his past pro bowl form it should lead to a lot more holes for Jackson to run through.5 days
.Fargas nets 41 yards and a TD in Week 10... (Rotoworld) Justin Fargas rushed for 41 yards and a touchdown on ten carries in Sunday's loss to the Chiefs. Analysis: Fargas' touchdown was set up by Michael Bush's 60-yard run on the team's opening drive, as he got the lone goal-line carry for the Raiders. He looked quick and busted a couple long runs. Fargas and the other Raider backs are not good plays next week against Cincinnati.5 days
.Driver goes for 50 yards on four grabs (Rotoworld) Donald Driver caught four balls for 50 yards in Week 10. Analysis: Driver led Green Bay with eight targets and nearly caught a third-quarter touchdown pass, but a Dallas defensive back made a big play to bat it down. Driver still has at least 50 yards in every game since the season opener. He has a fairly favorable matchup against San Francisco in Week 11.5 days
.Chiefs' RB Smith has subpar game in Week... (Rotoworld) Kolby Smith rushed for just 12 yards on nine carries in the Chiefs' Week 10 victory. Analysis: Jamaal Charles is definitely the team's No. 1 tailback with Larry Johnson out of the picture, as Smith saw limited action in the win. Either way, he's not a good play next week against the Steelers.5 days
.V-Jax has very quiet game in win (Rotoworld) Vincent Jackson had just one catch for 10 yards in Sunday's win over the Eagles. Analysis: It's hard to explain this stat line. Jackson was not hurt at all and was covered by special teamer Dimitri Patterson for much of the game after Sheldon Brown (hamstring) left. The Chargers focused on the running game and just didn't make an effort to get the ball to V-Jax. Expect him to bounce back even in a tough matchup at Denver next week.5 days
.Gates plays well in win (Rotoworld) Antonio Gates caught seven passes for 78 yards in Sunday's win over the Eagles. Analysis: Gates took advantage of the Eagles' depleted linebacking corps and blown coverages. His seven catches were the most since he put up nine against the Steelers in Week 4. He's as consistent as they come at the tight end position heading into next week's game at Denver.5 days
.Colts inactives for Week 10 (FFChamps) The Indianapolis Colts have announced the following players as inactive for today's game against the New England Patriots: QB Jim Sorgi, K Adam Vinatieri, WR Anthony Gonzalez, CB Kelvin Hayden, DB Aaron Francisco, T Tony Ugoh, G Mike Pollak and TE Tom Santi. Analysis: Rookies Pierre Garcon and Austin Collie will get their first taste of the big rivalry between the Colts and Pats. They will continue to start in place Gonzalez. Matt Stover will kick again for the Colts, replacing V... (More)5 days
.Rams | Jackson rushes for 131 yards Week 10 (KFFL) The Associated Press reports St. Louis Rams RB Steven Jackson rushed for 131 yards and one touchdown on 26 carries in Week 10. 5 days
.Campbell effective in win over Broncos (Rotoworld) Jason Campbell completed 17-of-26 passes for 193 yards and a touchdown, and scrambled twice for 15 yards, in Washington's Week 10 win. Analysis: Hunter "The Punter" Smith had Washington's other passing TD, hitting FB Mike Sellers for the 35-yard score on a fake punt. Campbell led the upset of Denver by engineering long droves and showing much more poise than he did in Week 9's loss to the Falcons. He's been maddeningly inconsistent throughout his career, however, and is unlikely to stay effective in Week 11 at Dallas.5 days
.S-Jax nets 176 yards, TD in Week 10 loss (Rotoworld) Steven Jackson racked up 131 yards and a touchdown on 26 rushes and caught nine passes for 45 yards in Week 10 against the Saints. Analysis: Jackson had an incredible first half, tallying over 50 net yards in the first quarter and 100 rushing yards by halftime. He also found the end zone for his second score of the season. S-Jax was less effective in the second half as the Saints stacked the box, but he still managed a fantasy-friendly 176 overall yards. The Rams take on the Cardinals in Week 11.5 days
.Cotchery totals 68 yards, TD in Week 10 ... (Rotoworld) Jerricho Cotchery caught six passes for 68 yards and one touchdown in Week 10 against the Jaguars. Analysis: New York went deep to Cotchery on the very first play of the game, but the ball was underthrown and picked off by Rashean Mathis. He later beat Mathis for a red zone score. Ignoring the games he missed with an injury, 68 yards is Cotchery's second-worst total of the season.5 days
.Raiders inactives for Week 10 (FFChamps) The Oakland Raiders have announced the following players as inactive for today's game against the Kansas City Chiefs: OLB Ricky Brown, WR Nick Miller, QB Charlie Frye, DE Greg Ellis, WR Todd Watkins, T Erik Pears, T Khalif Barnes, and WR Javon Walker. Analysis: Chaz Schilens is finally active and will play but unfortunately, he has JaMarcus Russell throwing him the ball. Darren McFadden also returns to the active list, and should split carries with Justin Fargas.6 days
.Rams inactives for Week 10 (FFChamps) The St. Louis Rams have announced the following players as inactive for today's game against the New Orleans Saints: G Richie Incognito, QB Keith Null, CB Danny Gorrer, LB Dominic Douglas, G Roger Allen, T Phil Trautwein, DT Leger Douzable and WR Ruvell Martin. Analysis: Incognito's eventual return will help open a few more holes for running back Steven Jackson, but that will have to wait at least one more week.6 days
.Cable won't name starting running back (Rotoworld) Coach Tom Cable has refused to name his starting running back and receivers for Sunday's game against the Chiefs. Analysis: Cable says he wants to keep the Chiefs guessing with Darren McFadden (knee) and Chaz Schilens (foot) returning from injuries. McFadden will slowly work himself back into game shape, so Justin Fargas will likely see the bulk of the work in the lowly AFC West matchup.7 days
